FEP Films

FEP films offer excellent chemical resistance and release properties, and can also be easily fabricated. Compared to PFA, FEP films are lower in cost and temperature, and they have a low dielectric constant and dissipation with a continuous use temperature of 400°F (205°C), suitable for use in cryogenic and high temperature applications.

We offer four different options for FEP film:

  • CHEMFILM® FEP-FG General Purpose Film
  • CHEMFILM® FEP-FS High Molecular Weight Film
  • CHEMFILM® FEP-RF Release Film
  • CHEMFILM® FEP-WF Welding Film

Products

FEP-FG General Purpose

CHEMFILM FEP-FG, general purpose film, is manufactured from fluoroinated ethylene propylene resin. This film grade provides a low dielectric constant and excellent dissipation over a wide range of temperatures, from -425°F to 400°F (-254°C to 205°C), and frequencies for low signal distortion and attenuation in flexible printed circuit and flat cable applications.

BENEFITS:

  • Outstanding anti-stick release properties
  • Superior dielectric and electrical insulation properties
  • Exceptional chemical resistance in aggressive environments
  • UV stable: long term performance in outdoor applications

RELATED DOCUMENTS:

FEP-RF Release Film

CHEMFILM FEP-RF, release film, is a clear or pigmented film manufactured from fluorinated ethylene propylene resin. FEP-RF is specifically desired for release applications. The non-stick surface, chemical resistance, and 400°F (205°C) usage temperature make it an ideal release film for composite molding over a wide range of resin systems.

BENEFITS:

  • Easy de-molding prevents damage and contamination of parts and the mold
  • Temperatures suitable for high temperature resin systems in composite molding
  • Exceptional chemical resistance in aggressive environments
  • UV stable: long term performance in outdoor applications

RELATED DOCUMENTS:

  • CHEMFILM FEP datasheet
  • CHEMFILM FEP-RF safety datasheet

RELATED APPLICATIONS: Composite molding, Wind turbine manufacturing

FEP-WF Welding Film

FEP-WF welding film is an ideal economical solution for applications that don’t require high aesthetic standards, such as hot melt adhesives (welding tape). FEP-WF film has an operating temperature range of -425°F to 400°F (-254°C to 205°C) and possesses all of the physical, mechanical, and thermal properties of FEP-FG grade, while offering up to 25% savings.

BENEFITS:

  • Suitable for extreme indoor and outdoor sealing and welding use
  • Superior dielectric and electrical insulation properties
  • Exceptional chemical resistance in aggressive environments
  • UV stable: long term performance in outdoor applications

RELATED DOCUMENTS:

  • CHEMFILM FEP datasheet
  • CHEMFILM FEP safety datasheet

RELATED APPLICATIONS: Process belting and casting, Welding
