The Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics plant in Worcester, Massachusetts, recently celebrated 3,000 days without a Lost Time Accident.
“The safety culture here is exceptionally strong due to the involvement of everyone at the site,” says Bethany Salek, plant manager. “Our emphasis on training, awareness, and continual improvement has made achieving this milestone possible. While a daily, personal commitment to safety on the part of each employee is critical to our success, we also value the strength of our safety-based teams that focus on the safety topics of ergonomics, risk assessments, and job safety analysis.”
The location is a 75-employee specialty coating facility that applies highly engineered chemical coatings on to rolls of plastic films and fabrics, and extrudes fluoropolymer films, serving the electronics, medical/life science, automotive, industrial and high-performance plastics markets.
